Lightweight Italian two-wheeler junior moto
cross; garage find; circa 1970s
A rare sight on today’s roads
and an appealing little survivor from Italy’s long tradition of lightweight
two-wheelers, this
Malaguti Ronchino RC50 (chassis number 01307) has recently emerged from garage
storage and now presents as a charming project for the enthusiast of
small-capacity machinery.
Compact, simple and unmistakably Italian in its styling, the Ronchino was
designed as an accessible 50cc junior moto cross with just enough flair to stand
apart from the usual commuter fare.
This example retains its
original frame, with the chassis number clearly stamped. It is offered in
non-running
condition.
With Malaguti no longer
producing motorcycles, surviving examples of the Ronchino are becoming
increasingly uncommon, making this a tempting opportunity for collectors of
small Italian bikes or anyone seeking a manageable and inexpensive restoration
project.
