Recent new clutch and tyres;
iconic oil-injection
two-stroke machine;
carries a lovely degree of patina
Introduced in the early 1970s,
Kawasaki’s F7 175 quickly established itself as one of the most versatile and
approachable dual-purpose machines of
its era. Light, tractable, and genuinely capable off-road, it offered a
level of usability that appealed equally to commuters, trail riders and club
competitors. Its oil-injection
two-stroke system,
simple engineering and rugged construction helped cement the
KE-series as a
dependable companion on green lanes and rural tracks across the
world.
Manufactured in May 1971
example is finished in orange and shows only 5,709 miles. It carries a lovely
degree of patina, giving it the mellowed, honest appearance that suits these
early trail bikes so well. Still retaining its original two-stroke mixing
system, it is said to start readily on the first or second kick and has been in
regular use.
Imported to the UK in 2022 and
has since been enjoyed on and around the green lanes of the Shire counties, even
venturing further afield to Classic Le Mans and the Adventure Bike Festival last
summer, where it was eligible for the trial’s
sections.
Recent expenditure includes
new tyres, a clutch assembly, spring and associated gaskets, helping ensure it
remains mechanically fit for continued use. The paperwork includes the current
V5C, a DVLA-approved dating
letter and a print-out of the parts
replaced.
These early KE models are
increasingly appreciated for their simplicity, light weight and genuine
dual-sport capability,
offering an engaging riding experience from its eager 174cc
engine.
A charming, lightly patinated
F7 175 in regular use, with recent mechanical attention and good supporting
paperwork. Ready to be enjoyed immediately.
