MOTd until May 2026 even
though the vehicle is exempt; coming with original brochure and other aged
document; two tone paint work
The 1951 Sunbeam Talbot 90 is
an iconic post-war British sports saloon produced by the Rootes Group between
1948 and 1954. Celebrated for its elegant styling, overhead-valve engine, and
impressive rally heritage—including notable performances in the Monte Carlo
Rally—perfectly blending post-war practicality with sporting
flair.
Later evolutions, such as the
Sunbeam Mk III and Sunbeam Rapier were built on the Talbot 90’s reputation
for performance and sophistication. The Mk II and IIA models introduced
independent front suspension and larger engines, further enhancing driving
comfort and dynamics.
This example has had just five
former keepers. It is powered by a 2,267cc petrol engine with a manual column
change and is currently owned by its caretaker since October 2023. Originally
finished in green, it was tastefully repainted to its current blue/grey in
September 1997.
First registered in July 1951,
the car comes complete with the original brochure and booklets. It is MOT’d
until May 2026, which offers some peace of mind. The car drives, starts, and
stops exactly as expected, demonstrated during photography and video work
here.
This is a rare opportunity to
acquire a Sunbeam Talbot 90 that combines classic British engineering, style,
and rally-bred pedigree. It is ready to be enjoyed on the road or as part of a
distinguished collection.
