Showing only 4,244 miles; lightweight and
pleasingly simple; ideal introduction to classic
motorcycling
A neat example of the lightweight AJS Model 14,
a manageable machine for everyday road use. This 1960 bike presents as an
older restoration and now carries a pleasing patina, the blue and black
coachwork giving it an attractive period appearance.
Showing only 4,244 miles, the
machine is said to start and run well, suggesting it remains in very usable
order, complete with its current V5C. The restoration is not recent, but the
bike has mellowed nicely, retaining an honest, lightly aged look rather than the
sharpness of a fresh rebuild.
Sharing much of its design with the Matchless
G2 of the same era, the Model 14 is appreciated today for its simplicity,
lightweight and straightforward maintenance, an ideal introduction to classic
motorcycling.
