When the first-generation Range Rover Sport arrived
in the mid-2000s, it quickly established itself
as the model that bridged the gap between luxury SUV and performance tourer. The
later Autobiography variants represented the pinnacle of that philosophy: deeply
comfortable, lavishly equipped and unmistakably premium, yet still underpinned
by Land Rover’s trademark off-road capability.
Paired with
the smooth and torquey TDV6 automatic, these models offered a compelling blend
of refinement, practicality and long-distance ease. Today,
well-maintained examples with strong
provenance remain highly desirable, especially in the classic and
ever-popular Stornoway
Grey.
This 2009
Autobiography certainly fits the bill. Finished in Stornoway Grey with a
beautifully contrasting ivory and black leather interior, it presents as a
particularly handsome and well-specified example. Showing 105,297
miles, it remains in daily use and was driven to the sale, performing exactly as
it should for the photographs and video.
Only a few weeks ago it received a full
service, including a new timing belt and new steering shaft, supported by an
invoice approaching £1,000 — a reassuring investment in long-term reliability. The car benefits
from a full complement of annual service records, including 7 service stamps,
supporting invoices, and a well-organised history
file.
Documentation includes the V5C, an MOT valid
until July 2026, 7 old MOT certificates, and the original book pack with
handbooks and the all-important service
book.
A very
smartly presented Autobiography Sport, in a fabulous colour combination and with
the sort of maintenance history that inspires confidence. Driven to the sale and
behaving very well indeed, this is a well-cared-for and highly appealing example of
one of Land Rover’s most desirable modern
classics.
