Low-mileage non-sunroof 205 Junior converted to race/rally spec; tuned
1.6 GTi 8v engine; Quaife LSD; roll cage; lots of spares including original
interior; advisory-free MOT
This Peugeot 205
has the body shell of a rust-free, non-sunroof 205 Junior which had only covered
31,813 miles. We are told that the previous owner had another Peugeot 205 GTi
which had been converted to race/rally spec but when this was damaged on an
event, rather than get it repaired, all the race/rally equipment was transferred
into the shell you see here.
Being a Junior with
a 954cc engine and soft suspension, it would have led a comparatively easy life,
meaning that the shell would remain in much better shape than a GTi, whose
stiffer suspension, more powerful engine and ‘boy racer appeal’ inevitably puts
far more stress on the chassis.
It isn't clear
when the conversion was carried out, or by whom, but the full spec of the car is
spelled out in a sheet in the history file which is shown in the last two
photos.
The car comes with a large quantity of spares (including the
original interior; see photos) which are all included in the sale, although they
will need to be collected from the Market Drayton area.
Starting
promptly and running well as we have moved it around on site, the steering is
somewhat heavy as the geometry has not been properly set up yet. A road-legal
machine, it has an MOT until June 2026 (with no advisories recorded) so you
could drive it to and from events with no need for a trailer – or just put all
the original trim back in and use it as a fast road car.
This juiced-up Pug looks like a lot of fun and would make a nice
entry into motorsport for someone.
