Description
Four owner example from
local enthusiast ownership; desirable GT spec model with
legendary high-revving K20 198bhp vTec engine;
Supplied
new by Fish Brothers Honda of Swindon in November 2008 this pokey Honda Civic
Type-R hails from the 8th Generation of Civic, with this variant of Type-R known
as the FN2. Finished in popular Milano Red the car looks to be in uncommonly
stock spec and sits on its original 18” seven-spoke alloy wheels.
Under
the bonnet, we find the 2.0 litre K20Z4 high-revving i-V-Tec four-cylinder
engine which develops 198bhp at a heady 7,800rpm and 193NM of torque at 5,600rpm
driving the front wheels via six-speed manual transmission which gives the
driver a real buzz when in the V-tec zone.
Inside this (higher) GT spec
example we find black and red Alcantara bucket seats with the Type-R logo
embossed, red carpets and door trim, black dash, electric windows, cruise
control, on-board computer, digital climate control with AC, independent
passenger heat/cool control, rain sensing wipers, refrigerated glove box, front
fog lights, automatic head lights, front and rear curtain airbags, original
sound system with MP3, radio/CD/Aux etc, starter button and power folding
electric wing mirrors.
The car shows 110,000 miles and looks good with
some marks as pictured commensurate with its age/mileage (see images) with a
smart interior and was driven to the sale.
The history file includes the
V5C showing just three former keepers to the current who bought the car from us
in 2023 and previous of 13 years, the owner’s pack and service book recording 13
stamps inc. PDI in one service book plus a 14th stamp in a continuation booklet,
the last in August 2021 at 95,060 miles by a local independent who has looked
after the car since 2014, prior to which is was looked after by Honda Hereford
and Gloucester.
An additional stamp is also noted in the service book
for valve clearance adjustment in August 2022 at 102,986 miles. The file also
includes two keys and one old Mot plus the current, valid until September 2025
recording seven minor advisories. The car looks to have been treated to a
documented service in October 2023 at a cost of £214 with a few other sundry
bills for a stabiliser link and ABS sensor in September 2023 too.
Ready
to be enjoyed, these high-revving V-Tec Civics have a loyal fan base and offer
hatch-back practicality with some real zest and fun factor, winning Top Gear
magazines Hot Hatch of the year 2007.
