Description
Cracking example; intoxicating exhaust note; Grinnall V8 conversion;
power steering; recent expenditure
First registered in November
1981, this TR7 came from the factory fitted with a standard four-cylinder engine
producing a dreary 105bhp. It remained this way until 1988, by which time
it had covered 25,000 miles when it was sent to Grinnall to undergo a dramatic
transformation.
During its time at Grinnall a Rover 3.5-Litre V8 was
fitted, along with a power steering conversion including a new steering rack,
the underside was waxoiled, all new brake lines were fitted as well as some
bodywork including a new door skin and the fitment of a type-F spoiler. During
the engine conversion the odometer was reset to zero, today it shows 47,723
miles, meaning from new this Triumph has travelled approximately 72,723
miles.
Presenting in smart condition the bodywork looks very well,
the interior has aged nicely with lovely contrasting blue leather and cloth
interior that shows little wear, the dash looks well and doesn’t appear to show
any signs of cracking.
Looking through the substantial history folder we
can see a well-documented list of all parts and service work that has been
carried out since 1995, the most recent of which shows invoices for an anti-dive
kit and poly bushed anti roll bar supplied by Rimmer Bros in July 2022, the
brake callipers were refurbished by Big Red in June 2023 and finished in Premium
Gold and new discs and pads were fitted by Robsport International LTD of
Hertfordshire in March 2024. Also included in the history folder is the owner's
handbook and service book.
Looking lovely in our classic car barn, and
ready to take on the British summer, ill health forces are vendor's hand into
what will be a sad sale.
