This stunning Toyota MR2 Roadster has covered only 2,284 miles from
new in the hands of just one registered owner. As the original purchase invoice
confirms, it was supplied new via Toyota Give of Denmark on 23rd
March 2001 to a British gent who was working in Denmark at the time. A UK spec
model in RHD, it was then imported to the UK with all duties paid and was
registered here in April 2021 with the number Y574 GTG, the V5C recording no
former keepers.
Finished in gleaming Raven Black paintwork, it has unmarked
black leather seats, floor mats still wrapped in their original protective
covers and a manually operated black fabric soft top. It is powered by Toyota’s
zingy 138bhp 16-valve DOHC 1.8 litre four-cylinder engine mated to a 5-speed
manual gearbox which makes it good for 0-60mph in 7.1 seconds with a top speed
of 130mph.
Correspondence on file confirms that it was used very lightly in fine
weather only until 2016 when the owner sadly suffered a stroke which left him
unable to drive. Treated to a new battery and an oil change in December 2020, it
was then put through an MOT which it passed with no advisories, the mileage at
this point being 2,142.
Started and run regularly
to keep everything free, it flew through its MOT again in March 2023 at 2,267
miles, and again in April 2024 at 2,279 miles when it was also fitted with
another new battery.
Retaining all its original
handbooks in the original Toyota wallet, it also has HMRC papers confirming that
all duties have been paid, original International Motor Insurance card to cover
driving in Denmark when it was new, EEC Certificate of Conformity papers, SORN
notifications, two period MR2 sales brochures and two sets of
keys.
Garaged throughout its life, the car is still in magnificent ‘as new’
condition and has been starting promptly and running beautifully as we have
moved it around on site. Surely the best, lowest mileage example in existence,
this remarkable one-owner MR2 would be a worthy addition to any collection.
