Lovely iconic Clio Williams I 2.0 hot hatch showing just 30,612
miles from six year ownership; No. 0005; Investment Alert!
Dating from March 1994 this tidy little pocket rocket is a Classic
90s Hot Hatch and very in-Vogue at the moment. This Renault Clio Willams I is finished
in classic Sports Blue (449) and it sits on correct 15” alloy wheels finished in
Gold.
Under the bonnet, we find the naturally
aspirated 2.0 lite F7R four-cylinder DOHC 16-valve engine which develops 145bhp
and 175NM of torque driving the front wheels via five-speed manual
transmission. In addition to the
Renault Sport engine, the suspension and ride was performance tuned.
In the cockpit, we find comfortable, grippy
grey cloth seats, electric windows, blue carpets, blue gear-knob and gauges
(including the three extra gauges in the centre console), heated rear screen and
of course the important plaque stating this is car No. 0005 of the 3800 Phase I
cars of which just 390 were UK RHD cars with just c.100 of the originals left
according to the Williams Owners Club with many of the earlier Numbered cars
written off.
Its believed that this example,
No.0005 is one of the earliest numbers remaining in existence which must surely
make this somewhat of an appealing example particularly given this gem shows
just 30,612 miles which have been covered only four owners plus our vendor who
has enjoyed the car on a very limited dry-use basis since February
2016.
The history file includes the V5C
confirming just four former keepers, the owner’s pack and service book with 18
stamps by the same Renault Garage in Ross on Wye, but none of the stamps bar the
last include any dates/mileages or information. The last stamped service was in February
2016 at 30,050 miles and looks to have included a cambelt
change.
In addition, we also find 11 old Mots
dating back to September 2000 at 5,823 miles, the current Mot valid until
November 2023 which recorded just two minor advisories for disc and brake pad
wear. The file also includes a
selection of bills dating back to 2001 including the last oil and filter in
October 2022 at 30,152 miles and a selection of user manuals for the radio and
alarm/immobiliser.
Ready to be enjoyed, or no
doubt tucked away as in investment this tidy Clio Williams looks to tick all the
right boxes with low indicated mileage, low owners and presented in standard,
un-modified spec.
