2008 Mercedes-Benz CL500 (C216)

Range-topping 5.5-litre 383bhp V8 pillar-less 7-speed Coupe offering huge performance and luxury for modest money

Dating from April 2008, this appealing, pillar-less C216 generation of Mercedes flag-ship S-Class based CL Coupe comes to us in powerful CL500 guise and is finished in grey and sits upon its original 19” multi-spoke alloy wheels with retrofit AMG centre badges.

Under the sculpted bonnet, we find a huge 5.5 -litre M273KE55 V8 engine which develops a whopping 383bhp and 530Nm of torque driving the rear wheels via 7G-tronic (7-speed) automatic transmission.  Interestingly, this model, as powerful as it is, is the ‘baby’ of the CL range, with power outputs rising up to 604bhp for the mighty bi-turbo V12 CL65 AMG!

This example looks to be in appealing order and boasts the typically high spec of any CL including acres of beige leather trim, dark wood trim, digi dash with navigation and in-car entertainment, Bluetooth/phone pack, electric heated multi-contour electric memory seats, Harman Kardon sound system, six-CD changer, electric rear head restraints, electric windows, sunroof, mirrors, cruise control, on-board computer, automatic lights and wipers, park assist etc etc

Showing 117,088 miles, the history file includes the V5C revealing five former keepers to the current of two years, the owner’s pack with manuals and service book recording four stamps, the last in October 2019 at 113,710 miles by Motor Technics of Birmingham.

In addition, we also find the CoC, a few bills and invoices for works undertaken and a print-out from Mercedes confirming its earlier main dealer visit/service history dated 2014.  We also find the current MOT valid until December 2022 which recorded four minor advisories (enter the reg at check-mot.service.gov.uk).
