RHD 1973 Volkswagen single
port 1200 Beetle; service book containing 17 service stamps; currently owned for
the last 4 years; original look with retro
accessories
Manufactured in 1973, the car
is believed to have been shipped abroad for three years before returning to the
UK in March 1976.
It has had 11 owners in total,
with the current keeper purchasing it in September
2021.
Included are all the original
handbooks, along with a service book containing 17 service stamps. There is also
a substantial collection of receipts and invoices dating back to 1975, detailing
various work carried out over the years.
The car appears to have had a
substantial restoration at some stage, as suggested by the excellent condition
of the paintwork. The vendor has confirmed that the reconditioned engine has
covered only 1,600 miles; although no documentation has been found to verify
this, its condition speaks for itself. We have also taken several photos of the
underside, which looks solid, though without access to a ramp we cannot confirm
this in full.
A discreetly installed radio
in the glovebox and neatly hidden speakers give the car a classic appearance
with a modern touch. It also benefits from a retro-style roof rack and a
quick-shift EMPI gear lever, which provides a more positive gear
change.
Having been driven over 30
miles to us and performing well during the photo and video session—starting,
running, and driving without issue—this charming little Beetle is ready for
daily use or new adventures with its next owner.
